Creativity and original thoughts are stressed in Middle School visual arts, while students are also required to demonstrate an understanding of concepts and techniques. Continuing with the basic principles learned in the Lower School, students further develop their knowledge of art elements using a variety of media, including tempera, oil and water paint, charcoal, clay, and more. Lessons learned in Class 6 and Class 7 are reinforced in Class 8 when projects become more self-directed and Digital Design is introduced.
We also hold annual art shows—check the
arts calendar to make sure you don't miss the next exhibit.
